Vidal Muniz 

Lead Pastor

From church planting to training pastors throughout multiple Bible colleges and seminaries across the nations, Vidal’s pastoral journey of 27 years brought him to First Baptist Church of Pharr in January of 2013.

Vidal serves as the Lead Pastor of FBC Pharr. His passion is to teach the Word of God and lead the church towards disciple-making and leadership development.

Vidal and Areli have been married since 1997, serving the local church alongside their three children: Sarai (19), Rebecca (17), and Josue (15).

Vidal is a graduate of Seminario Bautista Teológico de Lomas Verdes in Mexico City; East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas; and Logsdon School of Theology in Abilene, Texas.




saulSaul Balandrano

Worship Leader

Saul has been granted the opportunity to lead worship at home and abroad. His most recent missionary experiences were in southern India and northern Germany. Throughout the seven years of his involvement in worship ministry, he has been able to vocally and musically equip praise teams to lead worship in various congregations.

Saul has been faithfully serving at First Baptist Church (FBC) of Pharr for the past four years, but has just recently been entrusted with the task of leading the Worship Ministry. His heart is filled with a passion to see new and old believers fix their gaze on Jesus.

Saul is approaching the final year of his studies of International Business at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. With this degree, he hopes to build and establish small businesses abroad that can help sustain families in impoverished communities.



Benjamin Diaz

Youth Ministry Leader

Benjamin Diaz was born in Monterrey, N.L., Mexico, and is the youngest of three siblings. He lived in Houston Texas until the age of 12 when his parents, Joel and Olga Diaz, moved to Mexico as missionaries.

After graduating with his Bachelors in Marketing, Benjamin enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served in Afghanistan for two campaigns during 4.5 years of active duty. After fulfilling his enlistment, the Rio Grande Valley became his home and FBC Pharr his church family. Shortly after his return home, Benjamin met his beautiful wife Italia from Monterrey.

Since his return, Benjamin has been serving in Bold and Anchored Youth Ministries, and is currently the Youth Ministry Leader here at FBC Pharr where he works with our youth to deepen their relationship with God.

Willliam Reversat Spanish Ministry Leader

William y Cathy son un matrimonio joven que sirven en el ministerio de español en la Primera Iglesia Bautista de Pharr desde hace dos años. El llamado de ambos es enseñar y hacer discípulos para la expansión del reino de Dios.

Están casados desde el 2013, ambos paraguayos de 25 años de edad; viven en los Estados Unidos hace 4 años. Graduaron del Seminario Bíblico Río Grande en mayo del 2017 y actualmente William se encuentra cursando su maestría en el Southern Baptist Seminary.


Raul Balandrano II Young Adults Ministry Leader


Raul Balandrano, was born in McAllen, Texas, and raised in the Rio Grande Valley. For the past 9 years, he has had the opportunity of serving as a leader for small groups, and also of leading congregations in worship.


Raul is currently serving in Fusion Young Adult Ministry. His main priority is to equip college students with the word of God in their walk with Christ. The ministry focuses on encouraging young adults to plug into the local and global church.


Raul has attained his Associates degree in Communication Studies, from South Texas College. He is currently a full-time senior at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where he is also active with the Baptist Student Ministry associated with the university.


Carla Reimer

Media Intern

Carla Reimer serves as the Media and Technology Intern at First Baptist Church (FBC). She has been blessed with many talents, especially creative arts, and uses those talents to serve Jesus at every possible opportunity. Her passion to serve Jesus is shown in the local as well as the global church.
